Home Theater, Home Automation, Distributed Audio, and Lutron Lighting Controls in West Ocean City, MD
This client first contacted us in the spring of 2013, because he was building a new home in West Ocean City, MD. He wanted to get quotes for everything from the theater room to the lighting controls, and we were more than happy to help. He already had a good idea of what he wanted to do, he just needed someone to come in and turn all of those great ideas into a reality.
We worked closely with his builder, as well as the client himself who was very involved with the building process, to ensure that everything that this client wanted, he got. From recessing the TVs in the family room, the master bedroom, and the eat-in kitchen, for that beautiful seamless look, to running all of the low voltage cabling throughout the home, we always made sure that if they needed us there, we were there.
When it came time to install all of the equipment, we made sure that we had the camera system installed and functioning before the house was even done being built, so that he could keep an eye on his property from anywhere. We hung all of the TVs and had the sound system up and running the day that he moved in, so that he wouldn’t have to wait around for us to get everything finished. At Shore Home Solutions, we strive to not only deliver the products and services that you have paid for, but we also want to deliver the kind of satisfaction that gets you to call us back for more projects in the future.
This client wanted top-of-the-line equipment, without breaking the bank. He had a pretty large budget, but it’s easy to go over budget when you’re dealing with a property like this. We worked very hard to put together systems that would give him all of the control that he wanted as well as great sound throughout the home, and fall within budget as well.
We put an eight zone distributed audio system in this home, two surround sound systems with one in the family room on the main level as well as the theater room on the third floor, a six channel HD surveillance system with night vision, a Lutron RadioRA2 lighting control system, multiple TVs, and the URC Total Control automation system to control all of these systems.
The screen in the theater room is motorized and automatic, meaning that it goes up and down automatically when he uses the system or shuts it down. He also has electric black-out drapes that automatically raise and lower based on what you are doing in the room. They sourced the carpet flooring from carpet stores Melbourne. With Speakercraft in ceiling speakers and in wall subwoofers, this room came out very “clean” looking with no visible speakers, but still sounds amazing!
We recessed three of the TVs in this home, giving the rooms a much more refined look than a standard wall mounted TV would. We installed iPort stations around the house so that he could easily charge the iPad that he uses to control these systems with, by simply touching it to the wall station. They use inductive charging and a magnetic hold system to keep the iPad attached without any clips or release tabs.
He also wanted to be able to entertain outside, so we installed plenty of outdoor speakers, along with a weatherproof outdoor TV, so that he never misses a moment of the game. Whether he’s sitting in the pool or using the grill, there’s no reason to miss a TV show, or a line from a song, because he has the ability to do everything that he does inside, outside as well.
We also installed a very dependable wifi network to ensure that he always has control of these systems, whether he is inside or outside. Since the FREE smartphone app as well as the remotes, communicate with the system over the wifi, you have to have a stable and reliable network, otherwise these systems would never function properly.
