Here we have a customer that we have been doing business with from the very beginning.  We were referred to them by one of our other happy customers back in 2007 just to mount a TV above a fireplace and install a simple surround sound system, both nof which he had already purchased.  Though it was a small project, we were happy to help.  Since then we have done more than ten other projects for them at three separate homes. From outdoor speakers at the pool to a small theater room in their home near D.C..  Our most recent project was moving multiple systems that we sold them for one home, to a new home on the water that they purchased in the spring of 2012.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get any pictures of the old home but here aree some of the new home on the water. The pictures show the family room with a 60″ HDTV and 5.1 channel surround sound system.  Then you have some pictures of some outdoor speakers, indoor speakers, and another high quality AV system that we set up in the bar.  The last four pictures show a 60″ LED TV and surround sound system that we got for them and installed in their home in Chevy Chase, MD.

We have been doing business with the Saint Michaels Harbour Inn for many years and we appreciate every one of them.  We have installed televisions, speakers, cameras, new cabling, and more. 

We installed the AV systems in the downstairs lounge, bar, outside areas, and conference rooms.  That includes the 55 inch Mirror TV that you see in the last four pictures.  This is a custom, hand built frame made from reclaimed one to two hundered year old wood in colaboration with Marty @ Old Wood DE. www.oldwoodde.com .  They even used us to coordinate a huge transition of their cable TV system from standard definition to full HDTV in every guest room as well as the common areas such as the bar/restaurant.  When the cable company couldn’t solve their low signal issues with the reception of cable television at each of the numerous boat slips, the owner of the resort called us and we replaced every connector and every bad piece of cable at the marina until the problem was solved.

When we were asked to give them a quote on a surveillance system we were more than happy to. We were even more happy to find out that our quote came in at a little more than half of our competitor’s quoted price for the same quality of equipment and the same quality of installation. We have since added 4 IP based cameras to the original CCTV system.

They recently underwent a large renovation which included a conference room where we handled the conference room technology.  We installed a 50″ flat panel for presentations and video conferencing as well as all of the necessary cabling to allow for any device to be connected to the system.

When they were having problems with the Wi-Fi network throughout the building and outside at the marina they called us in.  They had their IT company try to fix the issues on multiple occasions but to no avail.  We came in and ran high quality network cables from the comm closet to strategic locations throughout the main building and one to an exterior structure and moved all of the Wi-Fi hubs to allow for a reliable  wireless network connection from anywhere on the property. 

We look forward to many more years of helping the Saint Michaels Harbour Inn Marina and Spa with all of their AV and other technology needs.

They also had us install the TVs in the office and master bedroom as well as the whole house sound system covering two indoor zones as well as an outdoor entertaining area.

Great Room TV

This was a new home that we were involved with from planning to completion.  We sold this customer multiple systems including the 55″ LED TV in the great room with a 5.1 channel in-ceiling surround sound system.  The cool part about this room is she doesn’t have to see any electronics because they are all located in an equipment rack in the kitchen pantry (which was gigantic).  She also bought TVs for every room in the house with all equipment located in the closets for a clean looking installation, a 5 point intercom system with a front door unit w/ doorbell, a four camera video monitoring system with DVR, as well as a whole house sound system covering four interior zones and the outdoor sitting area.

Here, we had a client with an extremely bright sun room with a cathedral ceiling.  Three of the four walls had huge windows which left us with one wall for the TV and front channel speakers and a very tight fit in the wall space for the two rear channel speakers.  As you can see, we made it happen using fully recessed eight inch in-wall speakers for the front and rear channel speakers and doubled them up for the center. We went with a 300 watt powered 12 inch subwoofer for deep rumbling bass located it to the rear of the room because he didn’t want to see any of his electronics while watching the TV.

Because the room was so bright, we brought in a 3D ready 55 inch LED HDTV with built in WiFi and an extremely bright picture with very high contrast to overcome the brightness in the room.  It looks amazing!

Our client also wanted the ability to listen to music in his kitchen/dining area as well as his outdoor space.  So, we installed two of the same 8 inch in-wall speakers that we used in the sun room in the wall of the kitchen with it’s own volume control mounted in the wall near the light switches.  Normally, we like to use ceiling speakers for this application but, this room also has a very high ceiling with no attic access.  The wall that the speakers are in, joins to the sun room where the surround sound system is which allowed us to run the cables from the zone 2 out of the surround sound receiver which also powers the two outdoor rock speakers.

It’s hard to believe but, we sold him all of this equipment and installed it for under 6,000 dollars!

This customer wanted to be able to use his family room as a movie room, without losing his family room.  He already had a 52 inch LCD tv on a stand and a surround sound system installed (not working) and he asked for our help.  So, we designed, sold, and installed him a system using all of his existing equipment such as TV, cable box, sourround speakers, and BluRay player as well as some new components that we ordered for him such as the screen, projector, subwoofer, amp, and remote.  We located all of the AV equipment in a closet across the hall so that they didn’t have to see it on a peice of furniture in the room. We put an in-wall center channel speaker in, and mouted his TV to the wall.  Then, we mounted the motorized movie screen to the ceiling so that it drops down just in front of the TV.  We mounted an HD movie projector to the ceiling behind his couch which projects the HD video to the 123″ movie screen.  When they want to watch the news or a sitcom, there is no need for the screen so it stays recessed into it’s enclosure in the ceiling until it’s needed and they watch the video displayed on the TV while they listen to the audio through the surround sound.  When they want to watch a movie, they simply push a button on the convenient remote control, and the movie screen begins it’s decent.  Within seconds, they’re watching a stunning HD movie on a 10 foot movie screen and listening to it in amazing Dolby Digital sound.  Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

Here, our clients had a very outdated sound system with huge DJ style speakers in carpeted boxes that sounded terrible and a Microphone system that produced humming noises and a lot of unwanted feedback.  They asked us to put together a system that would not only sound better, but look better too.  They had three requests.  They wanted a system that looked better, they wanted theater quality sound, and they wanted Bose.  So, that’s what they got.  We went with (10) Bose 251 speakers ( 5 on each side wall of their hall which was about 110′ long by 50′ wide), (2) Audiosource 12 inch powered subwoofers, and a new Yamaha 16 channel mixer to mix their live sound such as Mics and instruments with any music they want to use.  They had (2) QSC amps that they were using in the old system that we were happy to reintegrate with the new system to help keep the costs down.  They also went with (4) new Shure Wireless Mics which eliminated all of the distortion that they were experiencing before.    They also wanted to have a monitor to view the events being broadcasts from the prayer room, so we installed a 60″ LED HDTV on a full motion wall bracket above the equipment rack.  The subwoofers are hidden below the stage so there aren’t any pictures.  This system truly sounds amazing with their performers singing on stage.

When Ben Sheets from The Washington Street Pub contacted us about updating their AV systems, we were happy to help.  Here, we went with 3 Toshiba LED HDTVs with beautiful full 1080P picture quality and built-in Wi-Fi.  Wall mounting the TVs to the brick was the only way to go here.  We were careful to conceal all of the cabling even though that can be quite difficult with a brick wall.  We also connected these TVs to a system that allows any PC or laptop to display it’s video to all 3 TVs simultaneously with no loss of picture quality.  This was at the request of the owner who likes to stream live horse races over the Internet to please his customers from time to time.  The computer is also tied into the sound system for amazing sound during the race as well as streaming Internet radio at the bar.
